With the approval of Republic Act No. 10121 otherwise known as the “Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010” on May 27, 2010 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations on September 17, 2010, the National, Regional and Local Disaster Coordinating Councils created under Presidential Decree No. 1566 series of 1978, have been renamed as National/Regional/Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
To promote public awareness on its part as an enhanced council, the NDRRMC, through the Office of Civil Defense as its implementing arm and secretariat, is launching a Logo-Making Contest for the new logo to be used by the NDRRMC.
